Chinese Theft o' the Day: Second Life
GigaOM blogger Wagner James Au decided to find out what was behind a mysterious YouTube video showing a Second Life clone called HiPiHi (pronounced “high-pee-high”). So while in Beijing, he visited with the company and was given a tour of the technology. He concluded what others have suspected: The virual environment -- call it "Third Life" -- is what Au calls a "REVERSE ENGINEERED" Second Life.

Comments:
Ha ha ha! So, not only do the Chinese clone our technology, they also clone our doomed-to-failure laggy, poorly designed and bug-ridden virtual worlds?
All the more power to them. Perhaps the Chinese will actually allow the community residents to make a world that we would actually enjoy playing in instead of the vast wasteland of fetish porn and adverting SPAM that Second Life has become.
