Vanderbilt Wins Pollution Sensor Microsoft Grant
Microsoft has given $70,000 to Vanderbilt University engineers to develop a "real-time, online, detailed and accurate picture of air quality in large metropolitan areas like Nashville" based on Microsoft's SensorMap technology. The university plans to develop five prototype sensors that will be mounted on cars, which will constantly gauge SMOG LEVELS as they drive around. The sensors will connect wirelessly and feed a central map showing real-time pollution.
