MIT Offers Class On Sony PlayStation 3 Chip
MIT offers a four-week course "devoted entirely to the Cell Broadband Engine, the microprocessor that runs the SONY PLAYSTATION 3." The class is funded by the companies that developed the chip: IBM, Sony, and Toshiba. Students learn about "the concept of parallel programming techniques for use with the Cell. The pivotal class project involved the development of a 3-D version of Pong."
