First-Ever Iranian Strategy Game Announced
Iran's Tabyan Cultural, Information Processing Institute announced what it claims is the first-ever strategy PC game produced by Iranians. The game, called "Save the Port," is designed to help "counter the West’s CULTURAL ONSLAUGHT and in order to promote the Islamic-Iranian culture." In "the West" -- which presumably includes Japan, Korea, China and other places that produce PC and video games) individuals and companies make games for the purpose of making money by entertaining people. In Iran, they're made by "institutes" for the political purpose of resisting foreign cultural influence.
