The Movie "300" Made With Macs, CGI

The movie "300" is huge, and I'm not talking about its unprecedented $70 million opening weekend. The extremely fictionalized account of Sparta's Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC, was digitized, enhanced and edited on 15 G5 Macs, a project that required a whopping 16 TERABYTES of disc space. Like the 2004 movie "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow," "300" was shot in front of blue screens, and the sets, backgrounds and locations were all computer-generated. The online zine "Baller Goods" has a list of software used in its creation, and other details. One of the most interesting is that some scenes
were shot at 150 frames-per-second, which is a super high frame rate that enables them to suddenly slow the action way down when the heroes are whacking and skewering Persians. In related news, the nutjobs who rule Iran say the movie is "part of a comprehensive U.S. psychological war aimed at Iranian culture."

Yeah, I liked it, too, and will probably see it at least once more while it's still in theaters.

16 terabytes!!! I think I hit the big O! I am so jealous!

To anonymous, we didn’t bother. It was the Iranian government using psychological warfare against their own people. They were stirring them up, getting them ready to fight and diverting attention away from their nuclear testing. Remember that the Iranian people are not allowed to see movies or most of the internet, so all they know is what their government tells them. Read all about it here. http://www.washingtontimes.com/world/20070331-113237-7958r.htm

The nut-jobs vandalized Wikipedia and the Wiki had to close off the pages with Greek history. Never forget … an educated populace is a dangerous thing. Be very dangerous! :)

That the movie is psychological warfare against the IRANIANS may be rubbish.

Is it rubbish in the Iraq War context though?
War is good, fight like men good, die good,
use brain? BAD.....
diplomacy? BAD, treachery! Fag! Hiss! Boo!
