Apple Threatens Blogger Who Posted iPhone GUI
I posted the following item yesterday:

Windows Mobile Users Get Hacked iPhone UI
A brave and enthusiastic user has created an Apple iPHONE USER INTERFACE for Windows Mobile devices.

If you follow the link now, you'll see why the post was removed: Apple lawyers threatened the blogger I linked to with legal action if he didn't remove the screenshot. Wow, they're going after bloggers who post screenshots of Windows Mobile interfaces that kinda sorta look like the iPhone UI? Boy, the iPhone better be profitable or Apple isn't going to be able to pay all these lawyers.

Comments:
how ridiculous. Now, I wonder if they go after this Palm 'iPhony' post too?

I hope the iPhone bombs. At least MS tries to buy you out, but Apple goes for the throat first and only makes good if a court forces them to pay up.
Amazing. Do Apple think that all those who buy, or might buy, or might think about or write about Apple are in the USA and therefore likely to be intimidated? In nearly every other country of the world, the winner gets his/her lawyers' fees paid by the loser, so the risk of frivolous lawsuits by Apple is less real.)
While the UK is well known for its frivolous libel suits, there are lots of countries (Nauru comes to mind) where one can set up a Web site free of such risks.
Hey Apple...What´s the problem? Scared of Windows Mobile 5? You should be!
