Researchers Invent Thin, 3D Display Technology

Eggheads at the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology in Japan and Kobe University have invented -- and demonstrated -- a thin-panel display that throws a 3D IMAGE into the air below the transparent screen that can be viewed from any angle. The technology works using microscopic, precisely machined holes with mirrors in them.
