Mac Users Are Old, PC Users Young - Study

Apple sells Macintosh computers by portraying them as tools for young, hip, creative people in their 20's. But a new study shows that about half of Apple's Macintosh users are OVER THE AGE OF 55, whereas only 25 percent of PC users are over 55.

PCs generally are hundreds of dollars less expensive and makes them affordable to users as gaming machines, typewriters and downloads. Plus, there's a ton of freeware and shareware not applicable to Macs. Macs are work machines and not subject to virus infection. The gaming software isn't there, but ease of use for desktop publishing is a Mac advantage. Again, Mac is way, way overpriced, which those of us who are older can handle to get away from the horror of Windows and do professional-quality work. Doesn't matter anyway. Rosetta and the MacIntels will have us running the same "universal" software by the end of the decade.

Pfff... another over-sensitive Mac user with pre-emptive insults.

Rrrrright - all PCs run Windows (ever heard of linux?) right?

No professional quality work was ever done on anything but a Mac, right? No other machine but a mac is a "work machine" right? The market shares are all a lie, right?

(And people wonder why the Mac crowd shoots themselves in the foot with blatant propganda). The only thing worse than a PC fanboy is a Mac fanboy trying to NOT act like one.

Why does anyone care either way?
