Chinese Theft o' the Day: Silicon Valley

The FBI reports that the Chinese Communist government has set up some 3,000 FAKE COMPANIES in the United States -- most of them in Silicon Valley -- whose sole purpose is to STEAL AMERICAN TECHNOLOGY and intellectual property. The agency set up a San Jose economic espionage and counterintelligence unit in September. Unlike China's multi-billion dollar counterfeiting operations, which involve mostly "private" companies stealing intellectual property (with the Government's de facto consent), much of the industrial espionage in Silicon Valley is conducted by the Communist government itself -- including "government-backed research institutions, state-owned enterprises or individual provincial governments." In addition to setting up phony companies, China also recruits students studying in the U.S., engineers and even American citizens of Chinese descent, who can claim they were racially profiled when caught.
