Paris Hilton Hacks Lindsay Lohan's BlackBerry?

You just can't make this stuff up. Paris Hilton has been accused of HACKING Lindsay Lohan's BlackBerry and sending "disgusting and very mean" messages from Lohan's account to random people.

This, of course, assumes that Paris is smart enough to do this kind of thing.

First of all, Paris's cell phone was not hacked in and of itself. In fact, it was a low-tech scale exploit involving social engineering.

It involved a phone call to T-Mobile sales staff from someone pretending to be a technician, claiming there were slow periods on their network and they needed to do some testing.

The dolts never bothered to take the intelligent security measures to make certain they were talking to legitimate employees for T-Mobile. Instead, being a bit ignorant, possibly stupid, and wanting to help resolve the problem, they unwittingly provided the "hackers" with the necessary information to access internal network databases of T-Mobile.

T-Mobile uses mirrored servers to store the data of users on their network, so technically, anyone who works there could peek at any of the contents of their customer telephones. It was the mirrored servers that were exploited through
social engineering. I was far less than impressed, but I also know a famous wrestler in the WWE who had his T-Mobile account hacked recently, so it appears that T-Mobile is only interested in taking your money and keeping things hush hush, because I still see well over 100 security vulnerabilities on the site long after Paris's account was exploited.

Oh, and Paris is a lot smarter than you think she is, and if you believe she is a character she may portray, then it really reflects more the intellect of the person believing it than Paris. Paris is actually much more intelligent and articulate than you know, and a sweetheart too.
