One-Man Airplane Powered By AA Batteries
The world's first manned airplane powered by batteries -- AA BATTERIES, mind you -- flew today in a demonstration in Japan. The one-man airplane has a wingspan of 102 feet and is powered by 160 AA Matsushita "Oxyride" batteries.

And it must be good for the environment since it's electrically powered! Never mind the fact that those batteries will soon be sitting in a landfill somewhere.
(I wonder if AA rechargables have enough juice to fly this thing? Still, I wouldn't want the duty of filling 40 chargers up.)
i think this such a useless and senseless project they should be worried about the enviroment, making solar-engines more cheap and viable... and not being worried about getting into the news by any stupid pseudo new solution. fuck you, stupid yakuza.... stop the crap
