Worst USB Gadget Yet: Solar Powered Memory
Who says there are no bad ideas left for the USB gadget realm? A company called Adata demonstrated a SOLAR POWERED USB MEMORY DRIVE at Computex. The solar panel exists exclusively to power a number on a bogus, 70s-era display showing how much memory is available on the drive. That's a lot of electronics and extra cost (don't know the price) simply for the convenience of not having to plug it in to get that info. The company says it will become available in capacities ranging from 128 MB to 1 GB.
