Crackdown In 'Silicon Valley of Nigerian Scams'

The Nigerian Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun a CRACKDOWN on what they call 419 scammers (and what we call Nigerian scammers) in Festac Town, which is the Silicon Valley of Nigerian scammers. Something like 70 percent of the country's scam e-mail comes from Festac. Authorities arrested more than 87 people. What's news here is that the EFCC didn't act until they were petitioned by citizens in Festac, depite the fact that the town has been taken over by scammers for over a decade.
