New Boeing Destroys Targets With Laser
Boeing has taken delivery of a C-130 for its Advanced Tactical Laser program, which is developing an airplane-based laser gun for ZAPPING targets on the ground. And like the handheld "Phasers" from Star Trek, the Boeing laser can be set to STUN or KILL.

anyways i wish us would cut the military spending, it is like a little boy...
it causes others to focus more on military too.
In the short run, technology such as this seems pointless and a waste of taxpayers money, but in the end the technology trickles into the private sector and becomes quite useful. Millitary spending has driven a great deal of the inovations that we currently could not live without, such as the internet we are using now to communicate.
