Professors Create Robot Balls For Mars
Penelope Boston, associate professor at New Mexico Tech, and professor Steven Dubowsky of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are developing what they called "Mars-bots" -- ball-shaped robots designed to SWARM over the Martian surface by hopping in the thousands and gathering data. Some would be equipped with cameras, others with various sensors. NASA would need a lot of balls to explore Mars with this technology.
