Flying Digital Camera On Sale At Wal-Mart
What's the coolest thing you can buy at Wal-Mart? It very well may be this RC airplane with built-in DIGITAL CAMERA. You take pictures from the plane by pressing a button on the remote. It's perfect for gadget geeks who already have everything else, nosy kids and peeping toms.

User report: I was given one of these. As a jaded consumer, I'll report being pleasantly surpised at the level of fit and finish. Not bad for a pre-built toy.
Many labor-intensive steps were taken during its manufacture, such as installing the radio and applying decals. This probably explains its steep price.
It has two serious problems.
One, The only flight controls are the speed settings of the the motors. This actually works reasonably well if you have wide open spaces to fly in, but when it's time to land you can only line it up, let go of the controls, and hope. Unless you have tall, soft grass or snow for a landing pad, expect something to break almost every time. (Remember United Airlines Flight 232!)
The more serious problem is the camera: it comes with about a dozen disk batteries, two of which are required to operate it. In my experience, they will only work for a few minutes, and I haven't yet been able to work fast enough to fly, snap shots, and dump the pictures, even with a laptop PC waiting in the car!
Full disclosure: I have yet to contact Cox/Estes for help. But that's coming soon.
