Japan Tests Car-to-Car Anti-Collision System

The Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport conducted a public test of a VEHICLE TO VEHICLE communiations system designed to reduce the risk of accidents and give Japanese geeks another toy for the dashboard. The sytem throws a moving icon on an in-dash screen representing the real-time relative location of nearby cars. The last thing drivers will see before dying in a horrible collision is an alert icon in the upper right corner of the display.
