Robot Given Software-Based 'Artificial Consciousness'
A robot being developed in Japan shows facial expressions based on a "flow of ARTIFICIAL CONSCIOUSNESS." Called Kansei and built at the Institute of Meiji University, the robot can understand Japanese and may one day be able to "taste" food, according to researchers. Oracle will be pleased to know that Kansei's artificial consciousness is based on an extensive database of word associations that enable it to make personal judgements about whether it likes something or not. Here comes the VIDEO!
