No Gadgets For New James Bond
The BBC reports that the next iteration of the James Bond movie series, "Casino Royale," will feature Bond as a 28-year-old with NO GADGETS. The script will be written by Paul Haggis and, of course, based loosely on the 1953 Ian Fleming novel of the same name -- the first of the series and written without the "Q" character. Haggis wrote "Crash" and "Million Dollar Baby."

WHAT!?!? No Q, the diamond geezer of all boffins the planet over?! That is not cool :.|
Well, there was no Q in the original Casino Royale novel. No gadgets. Bond lived on his nerves, wits and strength.
The whole book is reviewed here:

Uh... Desmond Llewelyn, the actor who played Q, has been dead for a couple of years. That's why John Cleese of Monty Python fame has appeared as R in the last two movies. Not having gadgets or more importantly a "gadget scene" is no good though.
wtf. why would they not include the coolest part of movie. i remember the old movies that didn't have the cool gadgets when i was little and thinking this is stupid. if he had a gadget he could end it now. urg!!!!
What sort of Bond is this? Anti-gun, metro-sexual, gadget-free, can't drive a straight shift. This guy isn't Bond! He is an emasculated shell of a MAN and certainly no James Bond.
Perhaps he should audition for the next Brokeback Mtn sequel.
