Bleeding-Edge GPS Satellite to Launch
The U.S. Air Force plans to launch tomorrow a new GPS satellite with boosted performance and hot new features for both military and GEEK USERS. The new unit, called GPS IIR-14 (M), is the first of eight GPS IIR satellites to go into orbit. It will increase signal power to GPS gadgets, dramatically improved accuracy for military users (as well as improved encryption and anti-jamming tech) and a new civilian signal that provides open access on a new frequency.
