Social Network Excludes Ugly People

A European social networking site called BeautifulPeople.net has launched in the United States. It uses Orkut-like invitation-only sign-ups, which exist expressly for the purpose of EXCLUDING UGLY PEOPLE. "We unashamedly exist so that people who are sick of wasting time and money meeting unattractive people on the Net can meet others they deem aesthetically pleasing," said Greg Hodge, managing director of BeautifulPeople.net in the US in a press release. It's not even a dating specific site, but a "social networking site where people are getting jobs, making friends, engaging in discussions, planning events and building communities both online and off" -- but not ugly people.

Who decides who is beautiful enough to be on this website? What is your dream chick is a Phyllis Diller type, or your dream stud is a Danny DeVito look-alike?

"...dream stud is a Danny DeVito look-alike"

Hey wait a minute. I resemble that remark. Besides, Phyllis had some bodywork done. Doesn't that count?
