Kenya School Replaces Books With iPAQs
The BBC is reporting that a public school classroom with 54 11-year-olds is using Wi-Fi-enabled iPAQs instead of books. All text information is downloaded onto the Pocket PC devices. The PDAs contain far more text information than the school's regular text books, plus interactive quizzes, video and audio content. The school plans in the future to have students do and submit homework on the devices, which will then be graded electronically and returned via the wireless network. The only downside is how bummed the kids will be when they go onto the next grade, and back to old-and-busted textbooks.

Comments:
I can see the TV commercials now: Help these children get the kind of care they need to survive in this world.
Beats backpacks.
